Project

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority in conjunction with District Department of Transportation and the Deputy Mayor's Office, are pursuing Transit-Oriented Joint Development opportunities at the Congress Heights Metrorail station in Washington DC.

St Elizabeths East is an innovation driven mixed-used development within DC's Congress Heights neighborhood planned by the staff within the DC Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) that will enhance pedestrian access to the adjacent neighborhood and proposed development, maximize pedestrian safety, minimize traffic impacts and bus run times, maximize number of bus bays and enhance passenger amenities.

As part of this development, the Congress Heights Metrorail Station bus and Kiss & Ride area will receive a "facelift", including upgraded bus bay facilities, new bus shelters with lighting and real time signage and canopies to better serve current and future riders.
